How It's Made
This is a blend of 75% Non-GMO Expeller Pressed Canola Oil and 25% Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Canola plants are grown from canola seeds that have not been genetically modified. The canola plant is made up of small yellow flowers which have round black seeds at their center.
Our non-gmo canola oil is expeller pressed using a physical press that squeezes the oil out of the canola seeds. This process is a healthier alternative to most conventional canola oil extraction, which is typically a solvent-expelled process that uses harsh chemical solvents, like hexane, to draw the oil out of the seed. Our non-GMO canola oil is also verified by the Non-GMO Project™.
Extra Virgin is the highest grade of olive oil, available in both traditional and organic varieties. First, the olives are harvested and washed with cold water. They are ground into a paste and spun in a centrifuge to extract this high-quality oil. Typically, this process occurs within 24 hours of picking the olives from the trees.
EVOO is known as the “first, cold-press”, though it’s actually spun instead of pressed in modern systems. It is technically an olive fruit juice, because it’s simply the liquid extracted from the fruit of the olive.
To be considered Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the oil must have an acidity level lower than 0.8 and it must have zero taste flaws. Delicious!

What It's Used For
This non-GMO olive oil blend is used as a bulk oil ingredient in the natural / healthy food industry as a part of manufactured food products. It is ideal for use in products which will also be Non-GMO Project Verified before being sold on retail shelves. Because it is a blend, it makes a great, low-price option for manufacturers who want to use Extra Virgin Olive Oil but can’t sustain the higher cost of 100% EVOO.
It is also used for cooking, sautéing and as a finishing oil in the food service industry. In comparison to other common blend ratios (95/5, 90/10, 80/10) this blend has a higher percentage of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
