The Price of Bulk Olive Oil

Written by Hannah Broaddus | December 12, 2013

The first question that you may have as you research bulk olive oil is, “What is the price of bulk olive oil?”. This is a more complex question than it may seem, because there are many factors that can affect pricing.

The Short Answer

The price of a pallet of bulk olive oil is between $2,000-$6,000. The price of a 20 ft. Container with 20 pallets of bulk olive oil is between $30,000 and $90,000.

The Long Answer

The price ranges indicated above are very wide, because the cost of olive oil is affected by many factors.

Grade: The grade of olive oil that you choose will mandate what pricing range you will be in. As expected the lowest grade of olive oil, Olive Pomace Oil, will be at the cheapest end of the range, while Certified Organic Olive Oil will be the most expensive.

Packaging: The type of packaging that you choose will make an impact on price. Opting for larger sizes like the FlexiTanks will reduce the price the most, followed by totes and drums. The less packaging there is, the lower the cost!  Curious to learn more about how packaging affects your price?  Download the Ultimate Guide To Bulk Oil Packaging eBook to see the price comparison.

The Market: The global commodity market for olive oil has a significant impact on price. If some of the largest producing countries (in particular, Spain) have a bountiful crop, prices around the globe will fall. On the other hand, if supply is low prices will increase.  To get a current market update, visit the Commodity Market section of our blog or use the Commodity Market Tracking Tool.
