How It's Made
Olive Pomace Oil is the cheapest grade of olive oil and is produced 100% from olives. After the virgin olive oils are produced, the remaining pulp (the pomace) is collected.
The oil is removed from the pomace using conventional extraction methods (usually a solvent). Then the oil goes through a refining, bleaching and deodorizing process, which you can learn more about here. After that, it’s ready for use!
Olive Pomace Oil is similar to conventional canola, soybean, sunflower oil and other cheaper oils in the food industry in terms of how it’s made — except for the fact that it’s made from olives instead of other seeds.
Every lot of Centra Foods olive oil also goes through a thorough quality and purity testing process — first overseas, and then again here in the US with a top olive oil lab.
